My name is Dante Kinnick, a student at the Mississippi University for Women who has created this site and conducted all the research into this topic as part of my HIS 499 Capstone course.

My interest in the letters of World War I soldiers stems from several factors about me.  First being that I was intrigued by the First World War and how it seems to be a war people would rather forget, unlike with World War II.  The other attributing factors being my interest in the military, which comes from being both an Eagle Scout and part of ROTC all throughout high school.  The last one being that I come from a very proactive military family on both sides of my family.  A family tradition I intend to carry on after college here at the MUW by becoming an officer of the United States Air Force.
